So since reason played no role in their conversion to the church, it will play no role in their exit either.  The opposite of love is different for just about everyone.  Im not sure how to get them to that point with their church, but get there they will.  Will it be hate?  Disgust?  Fear?  Loathing?  Indifference?

How to move them from in love with it to those opposite points...?

Maybe Ive been thinking about this whole Nike/ Levi corporate censorship thing backwards.  Every time some Corporate Hive hack makes a pronouncement on such badness as gun ownership and cops shooting Jamal in the back people see a reason to destroy goods they already paid them for or stop buying.

How about this instead: every time they mouth off in some direction about 'corporate responsibility' or 'social justice' or whatever smarm they decide to call it, take a photo with the logo and the offending item and FB it, Pin it, Tweet, Gab, etc.  If we could get this going, their products or services would start getting associated with the very things they are trying to fight.

Would it work?  Who knows, but allow me to start with a photo of my big ass:

From Ol' Remus at woodpilereport.com, worth reposting in its entirety here:

Frankly my dear

With all the recent troubles we're again being invited to an honest and open conversation about race, or said differently, the browbeatings will be resumed. Try this for honest and open: many of us, probably most of us, are tired of your whining, your so-called grievances, your violence and crime, your insults and threats, your witless blather and pornographic demeanor—all of it.

You're not quite 13% of the population yet everything has to be about you, all day, every day. With you, facts aren't facts, everything's a kozmik krisis, and abusive confrontations are your go-to.

Here's the thing: some of us despise you, although fewer than you believe, but most of us plain don't care about you or your doings. There was a time when we did care, but you betrayed our good will and played us for fools. We laugh about it now, but we actually believed you wanted equal opportunity and mutual respect and to live in harmony—all that stuff. Ain't it a hoot? Imagine our embarrassment.

We talk among ourselves just like you do. It's true, we have "frank and open discussions" when you're not around. Why? Partly because it's exhausting to tippy-toe around you. Partly because you think it's your celestial right to tell us what we can say. And partly because you're alarmingly aggressive or painfully dim-witted by turns. We never know which "you" will pop out of the box, or when. But mainly because you've revealed yourself as grasping opportunists without honor or principle. There's your deal-breaker. There's more.

During the recent riots you expected us to believe heisting snack food then torching the place was "standing up for justice". When we didn't buy it, you told us the looting and arson wasn't done by the rioters after all, no, all the bad stuff was done by rioters from out of town. Apparently you think it makes a difference to us. And if we don't fall for that one, you tell us you're the real victims, you're the ones "hit hardest" because the neighborhoods you looted and burned are, um, looted and burned.

We've never stood in your way but we don't really care if you have good neighborhoods or not. The evidence says you don't care either, unless we build and maintain them for you, what your enablers call "investments in urban communities". They don't mention the return on our past "investments". Our former neighborhoods weren't improved by your arrival. Your contempt for ordinary civility tells us no level of "investment" would make a difference.

Listen up. It's simple. Just like our neighborhoods are our responsibility, so are your neighborhoods your responsibility, not ours. Your clownish leaders will tell you otherwise but they've always been your responsibility and they always will be your responsibility. Accept it or don't, you're the ones who live in them. There's more.

Your air conditioned, smart phone equipped, EBT-financed "poverty" doesn't wash to begin with, yet you'd have us believe poverty causes crime. There's no payday for assault and rape and random killing. Police say 20% of your criminal violence is related to dope-dealing, okay, business disputes of a sort, but it says the rest of it is largely pro bono. We also notice you have a working knowledge of jury nullification and take pride in not "snitching", typical gang behavior.

We say "what you think, you do. What you do, you are." We know what you think—we hear it every waking minute. We know what you do. How could we not know what you are? Just so it gets said, crime causes poverty. It drives away productive people, their businesses and the opportunities you said you wanted. More bad news: you're free to accuse them of anything you wish but they're not coming back.

Schools haven't been educating our kids for a long time. They're too busy conjuring up new ways to teach yours, in fact, we're beginning to think yours are the only ones who matter. There's always some new scheme claiming dazzling success which, in the end, amounts to handing out the answers with the tests, or taking the annoying hard stuff out of the coursework, or entering unearned grades by hand.

Whatever they're doing they're doing it wrong. Your kids are telling us, in every way they know how, they have neither the interest nor the inclination for academics. Perhaps we should listen. If what they want is "out" it's worth considering and probably worth encouraging.

You tell us the schools have "failed to meet their needs." And what are their needs, pray tell? Higher standards and tougher tests? Stricter rules and a dress code? Or some alternate universe where credit is earned for putting teachers in the ER, or for a string of abortions before the tenth grade? If you'd tell us what their needs are we'd at least know what needs we're failing to meet. Until then we'll mark it down for what it is, another lame excuse. They're supposed to be schools, not day care or orphanages or theme parks.

You pester us with the "civil rights movement" of fifty years ago as though it happened last week, with tedious 1960s footage and cloying voice-overs, in an endless loop, like Groundhog Day, decade after decade. It's understandable, you haven't met any real resistance since those days. Breaking news: none of it matters any more, it all devolved into just another swindle, an extortion racket, "pay up or we'll make a stink—and the bad optics are on you".

Schools now teach something called White Privilege, which claims no overt act is necessary for us to be racist, in fact, absence of such acts is said to be direct evidence. It's the "original sin" concept in a different wrapper, meaning our putative racism is bone deep and can't be discharged by good works. Even so, they say we must atone in perpetuity for being white. They suggest we devote our lives in selfless service to you. No. Sorry. Whatever white privilege there may be, it isn't enough. In fact, being subjected to White Privilege prattle is worth a couple of privileges.

Speaking of privilege, 60% of your college grads—and 20% of all of you—are employed by government. The intent is to create an artificial middle class of course, hence the trivial positions with imaginative titles and weighty salaries. In the lower reaches it's the quota hires, typically unqualified. It's a great offer. You pretend you're doing something useful and we pretend to believe you.

The rest of your grads are largely diversity directors, window dressing, teachers of dubious "studies" and improbable "histories", and similar warehousing schemes for the otherwise unemployable. It's as good as it's ever going to get, except for those on the skinny end of the bell curve—for whom we have genuine, i.e., earned respect. You'd be a fool to leave it on the table, for as long as it lasts.

So here's the deal. If you want to know what we really think of you, the answer is we don't, unless you're making yourself unavoidable or we're cleaning up your latest mess. We can safely rely on you to make astonishingly irresponsible choices and blame us for the consequences. And you'll demand we make good on them for you.

We won't take a chance on your sincerity ever again. Take it somewhere else, you have no credibility left with us. You're a net liability, predictable to the point of surety. So we attend to our own lives and our own problems. It's as it should be. We recommend it. As for you, frankly my dear, we don't give a damn.

10 Sep 2018

A followup thought on yesterday regarding Mr Alex Jones.  At one point over the last year I think the folks at WSRA (highly recommended) pointed out that a totalitarian society does not necessarily mean that the government is the one watching you.  It may not even be the one censoring you.
This has now become clear.  It is the very tech giants that we thought were so great that are now revealing the iron fist inside their glove of velvet.  We are, by our own choice, living in 1984 AND the Brave New World.  Its all digital, with physical echoes.

To tie this to the Shadow thoughts from last night, I think we had better watch our collective asses.  Because now that Big Brother has shown himself the repression will get worse. Alex Jones is just the canary.  And as He (Big Brother, that is) crushes more 'dissent' or 'hate speech' or 'fake news' you can rest assured that the resulting energy will show up on the street.

Maybe thats why the Masters of the Universe are desperately seeking escape plans to New Zealand...

Let us meditate upon these things my children...

To bomb or not to bomb, that is the question.  Syria, act 3 is being spun up and readied for premiere.  Seems, as JHK says, that we have seen this movie before.  My initial thought is that there is probably good reason for the intelligence community to get the populace distracted overseas so that we dont realize which of them are getting axed, or who they are whacking.  The CW2 is getting a bit sporty as we get closer to Maddening Mid-Term 2018.

People have too often been accused of 'conspiracy' over the years of my life and have thus been fearful of putting any concluding thoughts out there that may be labeled as such.  Now they have been shown a method of doing so that does not require a conclusion.  Just ask the questions, and in some cases just put up words, dates, etc. and leave the reader to come to their own conclusion.

Well done, Mr. Q.

Taking a break from the high school Im building to check the headlines and I see one that reads 'black actors win all guest categories for first time'.  Or something like that.  I wonder if the word 'won' is quite appropriate.  The unfortunate consequence of being told that blacks are victims all the time is that any achievement by them, well, almost any, is immediately questioned.  Was it legitimate or was it simply guilt that gave it to them, i.e a shakedown...?

Reading some Carl Jung tonight and two very important observations intersected like a bolt of lightning and understanding was gained.  This may get a bit involved...

First, understand that societies in general can be viewed from a mass psychiatric viewpoint just like an individual.  An excellent fictional story in this vein is ‘The Foundation Trilogy’ by Isaac Asimov.

Second, understand that history is cyclical in nature.  It may not have appeared so to people in times past (a point which I would actually argue) but in our modern age we have no excuse for not realizing that.  The preeminent work on this in my opinion is ‘The Fourth Turning’ by William Strauss and Neil Howe.  Easily one of the books that made the greatest impact on my life!

So while reading Carl Jungs work on dream interpretation this evening he noted that when a society takes symbols that have a religious value and importance to them and repress them, they dont just disappear.  The energy they carry in particular does not vanish.  Energy, of any kind, is not created or destroyed, just ask Newton.  It merely changes form.

In this instance, the energy is repressed into a sort of dark, societal shadow, just like the shadow archetype hat Jung wrote about at length for the individual.  As a result, it will manifest in unpredictable manners down the road, and generally unpredictably bad.

So I realized that this is the general driving factor behind the chaos and entropy that drives and feeds the Fourth Turning portion of the saecular cycle.  Society spends the better part of 60-70 years repressing things and those things then turn right around and destroy the society.

In our current case, we have been told by the people with the megaphones (i.e. media, government, Hollywood, education, medicine, all the usual suspects) that the biggest problems with modern life, at least here in the west, are whiteness, maleness, heterosexuality, Christianity, conservatism, etc.

So all the energy that could have gone into a healthy expression of these things and kept the bedlam to a dull roar will instead resurface with a vengeance.  And I tremble for our world once it breaks loose.  Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war indeed.  As Remus would sagely advise, stay away from crowds!

That is all for now.  I have not re-read for editing, I simply want to get this thought out there.  Im headed to bed so I can see what dreams may come of this...

Some morning thoughts en route to work:

Cory Booker leaked some documents yesterday prior to the Kavenaugh hearing.  It turns out that they had, in fact, been declassified, but that was not widely known at the time.  Another senator called him out for it and suggested punishment for the act.

Booker, knowing that he was not in violation of anything, basically said bring it on.  My problem with this is that the other senator (Republican, dont recall his name) folded like a wet paper towel.  So you cant censure him or take away his midget intern for a day.  You can point out the trap he attempted to ensnare you in and detail the way weasels like him function.

Sigh.  But since you dickless wonders cant or wont do it I suppose its left to irritable old bastards like myself.

Just a few notes today.

First, a saboteur in the White House hm?  Well remember folks, that shit goes both ways,

44% approval?  Not with me.  Still nearing 100% BFYTW!  Especially if there is a mole, uh, pardon, a saboteur in play.

I will not be bothering to watch the upcoming Captain Marvel.  To change the characters to fit PC is to kill the story.  Let them die.

Nike doubles down.  Eager for oblivion I see...

I think that shall be it for now.

4 Sep 2018

We went to a local space museum yesterday.  Lots of fascinating stuff, and very impressive!  For some reason I always get choked up at the occasional display.  In this case it was one talking about the Berlin Wall and how it represented the rivalry between the US and USSR.  Having been old enough to realize what was going on when it came down it just resonated with me.

As I walked through the remainder of the displays, it struck me (again) how utterly squandered the opportunities of our nation have been.  If we had blown on space exploration but a fraction of what we (as the US only) has frittered away on the hobgoblins of 'diversity' and 'tolerance' and 'equality' and OMFG especially 'gobal warming/ climate change/ etc' then we would be, as of this writing, halfway to the nearest star system by now.  Manned, not a drone!

So I spent the rest of my Labor Day morose and pissed.

Headlines note chaos ensues at the Kavenaugh hearings.  Predictable.  If its someone the xxx doesn't want then you can COUNT on them throwing a temper tantrum to try to derail it.  Juvenile.

Hmmm... sales of muscle cars drop while sales of SUV's surge.  People expecting to have a need for the SUV perhaps?  I wonder what kind of need...?

Kaepernick, of noted NFL mediocrity, is the new face of Nike.  Their ad reads 'believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything.'  Um, pardon? What has that used up has been sacrificed?  Fame?  Not if even I know his name.  Fortune?  I highly doubt he is doing this for Nike for free.  Respect?  Perhaps his own, and certainly mine, but there are legions of mindless, unthinking Borg out there that think he is Optimus Prime for fighting 'the Man'.  Give me a break!

We must learn to think of ourselves as state citizens first, Americans second if we are to withstand the leviathan that is federal power and even attempt to prevent the bloodlust that will be brought upon us by its breakup and dissolution.  H/T to Burning Platform.

It seems that Nike is already suffering a backlash at their attempt to suck up to the Borg.  $4 billion so far by some estimates.  Good.  More, harder, faster!

Decline in productivity noticed over at LewRockwell and possible causes discussed.  Ive been wondering about this off and on for some time.  Of course, writing comments like this in between periods of work all day is an undeniable factor...

Binge watched Jack Ryan over the weekend.  No noticeable SJW crap.  Loved it, highly recommend it!  Gonna be a long wait for season 2!

Bob Woodward, some has-been from the media, claims that Trump is crazy and off the rails.  Guess what: dont care.  He is still fighting you assholes and for that I thank and support him, regardless of his level of crazy.  Try to remove him in any way short of legitimately winning in 2020 and prepare to be well and truly skull fucked.

Mind is starting to wander so I had better head out.  More later.

A few miscellaneous thoughts from an excruciatingly hot day:

I would be really pissed if I was a fat dude trying to fit in a stall at Lowes...

Watching Tattletale (old game show) reruns from 1974.  The prize packages were about $1500 tops.  It sounds paltry today, but the currency has devalued over 90% since then.  The nation was just a couple of years off the gold standard and you could still buy a new luxury car for under $10,000, a damned nice house in a post neighborhood for under $50k!

Bankers suck.
